Highlanders - Undefeated! Max starts Basketball

It's official, the Highlanders went the season undefeated!  Congrats to the U9 purple team for a job well done!

Being on the Highlander team has been great for Miya, it helped her make new friends and join a team that was kind to her and she was kind back.  My concern as always is Miya's emotional well-being.  Being on the shyer side, like myself, I understand how important it is to make good friends who make you a better person and let you be your own person.

Another trait I learned about Miya through soccer, is she can get aggressive when needed.  She complained about girls getting physical so we taught her to get physical back.  And she did!  another trait, she wanted to be a forward, but then again, doesn't all players want to play forward?

A few opportunities were given for her to play forward, but she keeps going back to being a defender.   Half back vs full back, those are two different mind sets.  One attacks and looks for opportunities, and the other works on pushing back.  I'm not sure she has it in her to be a half back, but why not give it a try, you'll never know.
